Applied research

I led a research and development team and program for Arup, which developed and managed collaborative applied research into the infrastructure, systems and technology that support liveable and sustainable cities. We focused on problems facing society and the environment in the next decade, with about 450 active researchers and partners. Read about some of our latest projects in our latest Research Review.

Client, market and business analysis

I developed client and market analysis to support business decision making. This included modelling market size, risk, opportunities and trends in the construction sector.

Risk analysis + quantification

I worked with Arup and SA Health to develop project and risk management systems for the transition team charged with preparing and relocating to the new hospital. I also developed quantitative risk assessments to help Program Directors assess risk exposure in patient safety and operations due to IT, supply chain, and to prioritise mitigation and contingency activities.

Applied technology consulting

I worked with Arup, Adelaide City Council and South Australian Department of State Development to figure out how digital technology could boost economic activity in five industry sectors, each unique to Adelaide: Food & Wine, Festivals, Water, Transport and Advanced Manufacturing. We formed the plan with input through workshops with stakeholders from government, established industry, universities, social enterprise, digital startups and the community.
